Fine Art and Photography Show Winners
The 2007 PA Apple ‘n Cheese Fine Art and Photography Show had its largest year to date. This, the 19th annual show, had 285 entries! 143 of these were in fine art and 142 were in photography. The show had 40 more entries than the previous year. The number of youth Fine Art entries was so large that a building was rented just to house the youth entries.
Over 2000 visitors strolled through the show during the two-day festival. 96 awards were given thanks to the sponsorship of the following: Wal*Mart of Mansfield, Brodart Company of Williamsport, Penelec/ First Energy Foundation, B&C Photo of Elmira, Canton Elementary School PTA, Citizens & Northern Bank of Ralston, Pump N Pantry of Canton, Dandy Mini Marts, Bank of Canton, Stull’s Flowers & Gifts of Canton, Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff, Blick Art Materials, First Citizen’s Bank of Canton, Doc’s Irish Inn of Canton, Hidden Artist of Columbia Crossroads, Kitty Thompson’s Brush Strokes Studio & Gallery of Wellsboro, Brown’s Pharmacy of Canton, Subway of Canton.
Judges for the show were Edward Steinhilper of Williamsport in Fine Art and Kathy Scranton of Wellsboro in Photography.
Thanks to the help of the 25 volunteers who served in various capacities, the show ran smoothly. Jocelyn Boatman of Williamsport, PA won the raffle for art or photography. She chose the oil seascape by Marjorie Van Dine.
